Reagan National Airport set to begin massive reconstruction this fall

The Airport needs to really get this right, any knee jerk reactions based on the Turkey attacks could lead to millions of dollars miss appropriated, and more spent to make it all work with new requirements. Pushing security to one central point can lead to larger soft targets, that will require more security spending, and quite often more time to get through screening. We also need to understand that single points also make for single points of failure. Attacks at a single point could put the airport out of commission for a longer time.
