May you never be the target of this type of sophisticated espionage attack on your smart phone. It apparently cost millions to develop and use no less that 3 zero day hacks to take over the phone totally. The big question is the use of Israel technology to track a dissident of the UAE apparently. Sort of takes you to the the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Now that it is out and Apple is quickly developing patches for the problem, will it be of any use to Israel or will it be a way of tracking down people hacked by them. Sort of the big problem of high tech espionage, did they get enough to make the cost of the espionage worth it. In private industry your client would not be happy if you only received a little info, yet wanted to charge them a million dollars for it. Which is one of the factors we explore at the ESI class on TSCM next month. I hope to see you there.
