A kidnapped crypto executive was reportedly released after paying a $1 million bitcoin ransom

We are going to see a lot more of these kidnappings in the future. The bitcoin anonymity makes it so much easier to receive ransom payments. That makes kidnapping that much more lucrative than it used to be, and a lot more practical for the kidnappers hide their funds. This takes away a lot of the risk from being captured.
Pavel Lerner, the CEO of Exmo Finance, a cryptocurrency exchange, was reportedly kidnapped while leaving the company's Kiev offices.
