The FBI Was Warned About A School Shooting Threat From A YouTube User Named Nikolas Cruz In September
All too often the see something movement seems to be hindered by law enforcement dropping the ball. On the other side of the issue, law enforcement gets virtually millions of leads everyday, and most do not lead to anything. Both the Fed's and state and local law enforcement are getting more and more help from analytics that help cull through all the warnings and prioritize them. They are making mistakes, and will continue to, but they are getting better everyday. The United States Secret Service as well as the FBI are leaders in this push to try and use computer analytics to not let these warnings fall though the cracks. One of the easiest analytics is the same name or area of the threat coming in multiple times. So remember if you see something say something, most of the time you will not hear back from the people that you reported it to, but it is being added to the data base, and may well be the one warning that pushed it over the edge of prioritization. In other cases your warning is being acted on, but the investigation cleared the person. This is not a bad thing, clearing people with out a lot of fanfare is good for everyone involved. So make the call, send the email, Texas among other states has ways to do this even off your smart phone. They use a version of the I-Watch system, as does the Military, the Texas systems can be found here.
